It is with heavy heart that I announce that I will be
postponing my training and work with the Real Diaper Association. I make this
decision after much thought and prayer. I still support the RDA and their work
and hope to one day continue on the course towards becoming a Circle Leader.
It was brought to my attention that by bringing the RDA to Abilene I was unknowingly
upsetting some individuals. In no unclear terms I was told by one person that
cloth diapering was her cause and that there was no need for the RDA here.
While I disagree, these exchanges have caused me to put off my work with the
RDA for the time being.
I am reminded of the discussion of eating idol meat in 1
Corinthians 8. Paul states that even if it is within your right to do something,
even if you aren’t doing anything wrong, if your actions make it harder for
another person to be brought to Christ and to see the Gospel in your life, you
have the responsibility to change. If my work with the RDA limits my ability to
reach even one person with the message of Christ, then it is not something I
wish to pursue.
What does this mean?
I will still continue to use cloth diapers and tell everyone
I know about how awesome I believe them to be for babies, families, and the
global community.
I will still support and maintain relationship with the
retailers I have worked with and help them to grow their businesses in any way
that I can.
I will not be continuing my training as a circle leader at
this time.
I will not be planning the Great Cloth Diaper Change for
2014. Should someone else wish to host the event next year, I will gladly pass
on the information I have and assist in any way possible.
I am incredibly grateful for the friendships I have made
through this time and all that I have learned. I appreciate the support I have
received as I have taken this journey so far and would appreciate your
continued support at this time. This decision was not made lightly, but I feel
this is what is best for me and my family right now.
Thank you, and God bless.
